Wireless LAN Site Surveys

The Wireless LAN (RF) Site Survey is paramount to the overall network implementations success. 
Blue Dot Solutions provides certified professionals to perform RF Site Surveys for all major equipment manufactures (Symbol, Intermec, Aironet, Proxim) of Wireless LAN equipment available today. Our network engineers have many years experience conducting RF Site Surveys for a wide range of building structure types and will consult with your organization to determine and recommend a wireless network infrastructure that best fits your needs. Our engineers have extensive knowledge and experience in surveying a wide range of building topologies and will provide RF Site Survey maps to ensure optimal coverage throughout. Blue Dot will conduct your UHF, or SST (902, 2.4 or 5.7) survey and will document where all equipment is to be installed as well as the coverage area that can be expected with each access point. For on-going tracking management, our engineers will clearly mark each access point with a unique identifier that can be leveraged via barcode scanning. Blue Dot will additionally analyze the radio frequency spectrum to ensure there are no interference sources in the area, and clearly document all of our findings. Finally, Blue Dot will help your organization to select the proper wireless antennas to coexist with your access points. Having the correct antenna will maximize all RF coverage areas and potentially reduce the total number of access points required. 

Prior to installation Blue Dot and a project lead within your organization will determine what remaining tasks are required to complete. Depending on your specific wireless survey, this may include such action items as Ethernet cabling, fiber, Power for access points, installation date/times, etc. 
After the wireless network implementation is finalized (see installations), Blue Dot will complete the certification process and detail the associated support procedures for on-going solution maintenance. 

Point-to-Point RF Site Surveys

Blue Dot will assist in reducing your reoccurring broadband costs with minimal investment by leveraging wireless point-to-point connections between buildings/facilities. In many circumstance the need for leased lines can be greatly reduced by connecting your buildings wirelessly, and employees can take full advantage of networked resources and Internet access via a leased line that is connected to the main building/facility. Blue Dot will conduct an RF Site Survey to ensure the network link has complete wireless line-of-site to provide optimal communication efficiency and network speeds. We’ll perform a spectral analysis to check for interfering signals in the area and note all equipment that will be required for the complete installation. We will deliver an RF Site Survey report detailing: antenna to be used, antenna cable type and length, antenna mounting location and solution, wireless bridge location and mounting solution, as well as all other ancillary products needed for a safe, secure and aesthetically pleasing installation. 

Point-to-Multipoint RF Site Surveys

Blue Dot provides campus facilities and office parks with wireless connectivity utilizing state of the art point-to-multipoint technology. By leveraging a central building for a lease line connection, multiple other buildings can be connected to the main building in “hub and spoke" architecture. The point-to-multipoint survey is very similar to our point-to-point RF Survey. To obtain the best signal quality and network speed possible for the multi-link design, we survey with multiple antennas. Our professional RF site survey for point-to-multipoint architecture will provide: all antenna’s to be used, their mounting locations and mounting solutions, as well as any interference encountered during the survey.
