Advanced Mobile for Qualcomm^® Profile

Qualcomm, a leading global provider of integrated wireless systems, application and services to the transportation and logistics industry, announced a strategic partnership in January 2011 with Blue Dot  to deliver fully packaged mobile applications focused on dedicated logistics, specialized transport and private fleets operations. Blue Dot will leverage its Advanced Mobile – Packaged Mobile Application Platform to deliver a library of packaged mobile applications that will be private labeled and sold by Qualcomm. The foundation of the strategic alliance will be a joint go-to-market strategy to deliver multiple turnkey mobile solutions that entail: mobile applications software; mobile handheld devices; professional services; deployment services and system support.

Proof of Delivery will be the first packaged mobile application delivered and offered on Qualcomm’s handheld External Mobile Device 200 (EMD200). Proof of Delivery will help fleets operate more efficiently and reduce costs by allowing the driver to automate work assignments performed outside of the vehicle, such as barcode scanning, exception management and signature capture. By extending wireless connectivity outside the vehicle, Proof of Delivery will help fleets improve time to invoice through near real-time delivery notification, as well as eliminate paperwork and reduce costs associated with customer and freight settlement.   Moving forward, Qualcomm and Blue Dot will bring additional mobile solutions to market such as Vehicle Inspections, Pick-up and Delivery, etc.  All the mobile applications business processes will center on effectively managing out-of-vehicle activities, safety compliance and customer settlement.
