Application Development
Challenge
As enterprise organizations realize the ROI associated with mobile solutions across a broad variety of users, roles and departments, it is critical that an overall, consistent strategy for mobile application development is deployed throughout the enterprise. Equally important is that mobile workforce solutions are highly flexible and adaptable to change, as new mobile users will demand application improvements while new technologies emerge and users become familiar with the benefits of using mobile devices and computers. When new mobile applications are designed and existing legacy applications are upgraded, it will be critical to have a reliable foundation for provisioning mobile devices and internally managing application versions.
Applying mNOW!
The mNOW! Mobile Framework’s® Application Design Tool® module provides a state of the art development and configuration environment to build, modify, and grow all mobile applications throughout the enterprise. The mNOW! Application Design Tool®, through its highly efficient development approach and cross-platform portability via XMLR® (XML@Runtime), provides developers with an intuitive platform for mobile application development, management, integration, synchronization, and provisioning for all mobile applications. The design environment is feature-rich and optimized for mobile solutions, while requiring significantly less qualifications than C#, C++, Java, or equivalent development languages.
The mNOW! Command Center module provides an easy-to-use administration and deployment capability to centrally provision and support all remote devices - even those only occasionally connected to the network. The Deployment Package Builder enables the creation of packages of deployable content: new or updated mNOW! applications, 3rd party applications, system patches and updates, configuration files, etc. The Device Manager then provides the ability to schedule and monitor the provisioning of deployment packages to specific target devices, wherever those devices may be.
