The mNOW!® Mobile Framework 2008 (mNOW! 2008) builds upon the Microsoft technology stack, leveraging the power of the world’s leading operating systems, frameworks, and products such as Windows and Windows Mobile, the .NET Framework v3.5, Internet Information Server, and SQL Server 2008 to provide a robust, intuitive infrastructure and toolset for extending mission critical back-office systems to the mobile workforce.

Through the latest technologies such as Windows Communication Foundation and Windows Workflow Foundation, mNOW! 2008 provides an enterprise-grade server infrastructure capable of supporting small companies or departments with deployments of tens of users, up to global deployments with thousands of mobile users.  The mCORE!® Communications Server acts as the communications hub for  mNOW! 2008.  Built upon Microsoft Windows Communication Foundation—Microsoft’s implementation of the industry standard Web Services 2.0 specification—it provides secure, reliable communications between the different modules of the framework and is designed to accommodate all deployment scenarios from small local deployments to large mission critical deployments that require enterprise scalability, high availability, and redundancy.   The mCORE! Integration Engine™ provides sophisticated Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) capabilities to mNOW! 2008.   Built upon Microsoft .NET and Microsoft Windows Workflow, the Integration Engine routes inbound and outbound payloads between remote mobile devices and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)-based Integration Services.  Its configurable orchestration process supports robust auditing, error handling, and notification capabilities to ensure that enterprise data is never lost.

Newly released mfLY!® for Visual Studio 2008 (mfLY) builds upon Microsoft’s best-in-class integrated development environment and brings more of the power of the .NET Framework to mobile application development.  mfLY! is a Software Developer’s Kit (SDK), which extends Microsoft’s Visual Studio 2008 to provide unsurpassed guidance and efficiency for developing enterprise-grade mobile solutions.  mfLY! provides a superior visual-based programming environment through sophisticated modelers and designers and intuitively implements the Model-View-Controller pattern that compartmentalizes applications into domain objects (models), views, and controllers.

The mCORE!® Command Center leverages the Windows Communication Foundation and serves as the primary administrative interface to quickly and efficiently deploy, manage, and evolve enterprise mobile solutions beyond the lifetime of current business needs, hardware and technologies.  Through the mCORE! Command Center, administrators can visually monitor the status and health of their mobile solutions; organize, manage, and monitor their mobile device communities; centrally view and control remote devices; build, provision and monitor deployment packages; and view, publish, and print a variety of key reports.

The mCORE!® Communications Agent provides a corresponding device infrastructure that supports a broad variety of stationary and mobile devices ranging from desktops and workstations to laptops, tablets, and PDAs (including most ruggedized handhelds)—virtually any device running a Windows or Windows Mobile-based operating system, regardless of display size or resolution.  The mCORE! Communications Agent intelligently monitors the device’s network status and broker’s communications between the device and the mCORE! Communications Server.  In addition, the mCORE! Communication Agent is also extensible and supports customizable “plug-ins” that can perform a variety of functions device, network, and transaction related.
