August 4, 2010 - Denver, CO - Blue Dot is proud to announce the availability of Cyan, a cloud computing framework built on Microsoft's flagship Windows Azure cloud technology. Cyan will set the stage for Blue Dot to deliver its current and future mobile line of business solutions in a Software as a Service (SaaS) model. Cyan provides greater freedom and flexibility for Blue Dot's business partners and customers for how they access and pay for mobile line of business solutions, with reduced emphasis on the constraints of traditional software and hardware licensing models. Windows Azure is Microsoft's leading internet-scale cloud services platform and is different from traditional hosting. Windows Azure provides simpler administration, as well as services designed to create scalable and reliable applications, and the business benefits include minimal up-front commitment and easier ways to increase/decrease the computing resources an organization uses. Advanced Mobile 311 for Cyan - Ready, Set, Go Blue Dot is also proud to announce the Community Technology Preview of its first Cyan-ready solution, Advanced Mobile 311! Advanced Mobile 311 is an easy-to-use cloud-based crowd sourcing solution specifically designed for municipalities and organizations that wish to empower their citizenry or employees to quickly and accurately generate Service Requests using their personal Smart Phones. Users can quickly identify the location of an issue on an interactive map, search and select the appropriate Service Code from the customers' source systems, attach a photograph, and include their contact information for follow-up. Advanced Mobile 311's cloud services - based upon Blue Dot's Cyan cloud computing framework - has been specifically designed for the Windows Azure cloud platform. These services enable applications running on a variety of mobile operating system platforms to communicate through a common cloud-based gateway to a variety of back-end systems. Cyan allows customers to eliminate the need to procure, provision, and manage server infrastructure to support the Advanced Mobile 311 solution, significantly speeding time-to-market and reducing TCO costs. The Advanced Mobile 311 cloud services are fully integrated into Open311 (www.open311.org) compatible systems.
