GCC Selects Blue Dot’s
mNOW!® Mobile Framework

July 26th, 2007, Chihuahua, Mexico – Grupo Cementos de Chihuahua (GCC), a leading multi-national cement, concrete, aggregates production and services company in the construction industry has selected Blue Dot’s mNOW!® Mobile Framework for a strategic mobile workforce initiative. mNOW! will be used to improve efficiencies in day to day inventory and maintenance operations in manufacturing facilities in the United States, Mexico, and other locations.

GCC has contracted Blue Dot’s Professional Services Group to tailor the mNOW! Work Management and Inventory Management Mobile Business Applications templates to their specifications. The Work Management functionality will support remotely receiving and reviewing route-based work orders, issuing parts against work orders, checking part availability, entering labor and completing work orders. The Inventory Management application and functionality will support GCC transactions such as receiving materials, part issues, part returns, cycle counts, part lookups, barcode printing, part kitting, and vendor managed inventory.

The resulting solution will support an intermittently connected mode of operation, automatically transferring data between a Symbol MC9000 Series industrial grade mobile computer and GCC’s ERP system JD Edwards OneWorld when network connectivity is available.
