Project Methodology
Agile Project Implementation
Blue Dot’s mobile project methodology is specifically designed around the proven implementation pattern of Agile Manifesto. Agile adds tremendous value to the process of implementing mobile software by emphasizing:
- Individuals and interactions over processes and tools
- Working software over comprehensive documentation
- Customer collaboration over contract negotiation
- Responding to change over following a plan
Our Agile methodology provides Blue Dot customers with prioritized functionality in a biweekly iterative release model, enabling visibility of live mobile functionality from early in the project through completion. During kickoff and initial Sprint planning, Blue Dot collaborates with the customer’s project team to establish priorities for this iterative release approach. Each iterative Sprint includes a set of features that are operational within the desired environment so that the release can be reviewed and tested throughout the project to eliminate any unforeseen risks.
In the Agile Methodology approach, as individual Sprints are completed and released, a velocity for the project schedule is established. The velocity defines the timeline for when individual features/Sprints can be expected for delivery, and accounts for both Blue Dot’s development speed and our customer’s involvement/action items. Once the velocity is established, it becomes an accurate measure for the overall schedule of all feature/Sprint releases. Prior to establishing a velocity for the mobile project, Blue Dot uses more traditional estimating procedures to determine an initial target schedule.
Blue Dot tailors the Agile implementation process to motivated individuals and provides each with a positive environment, continued support and confidence that they have mobile solutions of utmost quality. Blue Dot is certified in Agile Project Delivery and will assign a Scrum Master to lead all project-management and development activities.
